Veteran cinematographer Prince Afam Chiazor is dead, Chiazor slumps and dies on Friday, October 21, 2016 while on movie set – The late cinematographer cum actor dies a day to his birthday.

The Nollyood industry has suffered yet another loss as the president of the Nigerian Guild of Cinematographers Prince Afam Chiazor dies. Prince Afam as he is fondly known died while on set shooting a movie on Friday, October 21, 2016, just a day to his birthday. Many of his colleagues who were unaware of his death took to his social media timeline and wished him happy birthday only to hear the news of his death later.

The president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Fred Amata took to his Instagram page to announce the death of Prince Afam. “The news of the passing of my Brother President. President of The Guild of Cinematographers comes as a rude shock. Afam Chiazor was a professional who believed in the industry and dedicated his energy to the betterment of Nollywood. That he passed on set in active service is a testimony to his love and dedication to his art.He will surely be missed. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”


Nollywood actress Ufuoma Mcdermott revealed that Afam had been handling the camera in Nigerian film industry since 1988.
