The woman, Peace Euodia who was said to be a staunch Jehovah Witness faithful, refused the blood transfusion even after doctors told her it was the only thing that could save her life because her faith forbids that medical procedure.
According to Ossai Ovie Success, a media aide to the Delta State governor who posted the sad incident on his Facebook wall, the doctors had insisted on transferring blood into Euodia who was seriously bleeding following complications at childbirth but she vehemently refused because of her belief and died in the process.
This is what Success wrote on his wall:
“RELIGIOUS DOCTRINE: Peace Euodia died of excess bleeding during child delivery, because her church, Jehovah Witness Church, does not permit her to accept blood transfusion.
Why will Jehovah Witness church not allow her to receive blood from someone because of church tradition?

But most Nigerians have voiced their resentment of the doctrines of the church and say the deceased could have lived if she had not held doggedly to the church belief even at the point of death.
