There are quite a lot of people who follow Nigerian music that do not know Tiwa Savage speak Yoruba fluently.
Although many know her to be a Yoruba person, judging by her name, Tiwatope but only a few know she speaks the Yoruba language fluently. Tiwa spent most of her growing-up days in the United States so it’s only natural for people to have a limited understanding of her ability to speak the Yoruba language.
However, in an interview with Capital Xtra in London, she showed her Yoruba speaking skills as the interviewer requested that she spoke in her native language of the Yoruba.
