Grammy-nominated Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, has spoken on the global dominance of the afrobeats genre.
During an Hiptv panel discussion with the United States Advisory council on Africa Diaspora Engagement and Leaders In Nigeria’s Creative Industries, the DMW label boss stated that afrobeats artistes were now selling the same tickets as pop and American hip-hop stars like Drake.
He noted that an afrobeats single can earn an artist a lifetime wealth and riches.
He said:
“Afrobeats Artists are selling the same tickets as Drake. Now one song as an afrobeat artist can change your generation.”
Davido also urged young artists to work with themselves more rather chase international collaborations.
