A Nigerian lawyer, identified as Nupe Lawyer, has advised veteran singer Mike Ejeagha to consider taking popular skit maker Brain Jotter to court for alleged copyright infringement.
This comes after Brain Jotter used Mike Ejeagha’s 1981 song in a skit which has since gone viral, while offering N2M as compensation.
The lawyer noted the importance of copyright laws and advised that Mike Ejeagha may be entitled to more compensation than the amount Brain Jotter offered.
He wrote:
“I hope the man has a good lawyer you can’t use someone’s song for content raking millions and offer to give the man “2million” as if you are helping the man.”
