Nigerian singer Blessing Akiode Mariam, popularly known as Candy Bleakz, has sparked concern after a troubling video of her surfaced online, showing her moments after she was reportedly robbed in Cape Town, South Africa.
In the video, the music star appeared visibly shaken as she recounted how her valuables were stolen despite the presence of security personnel nearby. Candy Bleakz expressed frustration at being robbed in Cape Town saying that the officers failed to act, even though, according to her, there were clear chances to apprehend the thief.
She added that if the same incident had happened in Nigeria, the culprit would likely have been caught and her belongings recovered. The singer said the suspects were still within reach at the time, yet no intervention was made.
Candy Bleakz revealed that jewelry worth about N10 million was taken during the robbery. The video also showed her with a bleeding injury on her face, which she later covered with a handkerchief as she continued speaking.
The incident has sparked conversations online, with many fans expressing concern for her safety and calling for better protection for visitors and artists abroad.
